International Paper in Mobile
It started with the Mobile Mill in 1928 and continues today with a small office for corporate functions in Mobile, a Container Plant in Bay Minette, and Woods Operations in Creola and Citronelle. In between, Mobile was the location for the former Southern Kraft Division Headquarters, Southern Kraft Woodlands, Bag Plant, Multi-wall Bag Plant, Wood Products Distribution, SEPCO,PAPCO, Erling Riis Research, Corporate Engineering and Technology, Corporate Transportation at Bates, and several other operations; all now discontinued.
Mission
The Society's purpose is to provide financial aid quickly and confidentially to and for the benefit of a Member or a deceased Member's surviving dependant who is in need of financial assistance in the face of misfortune, an emergency or calamity.
Standing Meetings
There are three IP groups (mostly retirees) that meet.
- The old Division Office Supervisors meet 9 months of the year on the 3rd Thursdays at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Pleasant Valley Road at 6PM.
- The Retired International Paper People (RIPP) meet quarterly at Saraland City Auditorium for a covered dish luncheon; next meeting Aug 19th at 11:30 AM.
- The IP Breakfast Group eat at Morrison's at Springdale Mall every 2nd Monday at 7:30AM. All groups welcome all IP people.

What's Next
Annual Meeting for the entire membership is September 15th at the Saraland City Auditorium beginning at 11 AM. Paul Karre has accepted our invitation to be our speaker. Please come, your help to accomplish the MISSION and registration is needed. Spread the word, Quarter Century Society is active again in Mobile.
